Adolphe Monticelli

Adolphe Monticelli (1824-1886) was a French painter of realistic and romantic styles. He is known for his bold brushwork and vivid use of color. Monticelli's work often featured landscapes, still-life compositions, and figure studies. He was influenced by the Barbizon school and the works of Jules Bastien-Lepage. Despite his relatively unknown status during his lifetime, Monticelli's paintings now fetch high prices at auction.
