Albert Besnard

Albert Besnard (1849-1932) was a French Symbolist and Academic painter. He was born in Paris to a family of artists and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. Besnard's work blended Symbolist and Academic styles, often featuring dreamlike, idealized subjects. He was particularly known for his portraits and allegorical paintings, which explored themes of beauty, love, and spirituality.
