Alexey Gerasimov

Alexey Gerasimov (1663-1724) was a Russian painter and academician who mastered the historicist style. He worked primarily in Moscow, serving as a court artist to Peter I and later becoming a professor at the Academy of Arts. Gerasimov's artworks often depicted scenes from ancient Greece and Rome, as well as Russian history and mythology.
