Alfred Hirth

Alfred Henry Maurer (1857-1932) was an American Impressionist and Romantic painter. He was born in Boston and studied at the Museum of Fine Arts' School and later at the Académie Julian in Paris. Known for his expressive and emotive works, Maurer's paintings often featured landscapes, cityscapes, and figurative subjects. His style blended elements of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Symbolism. Despite struggling financially and personally, Maurer continued to create art until his death.
