Alice Trumbull Mason
Alice Trumbull Mason (1906-1971) was a pioneering American abstract expressionist artist. Her modernist style combined bold colors and textures with dynamic brushstrokes. Influenced by the likes of Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, Mason's works often featured geometric shapes and expressive gestures. A member of the Washington Square Gallery group, she exhibited nationally and internationally, contributing to the development of American abstract expressionism in the mid-20th century.
