Allan Houser

Allan Houser (1914-1994) was a renowned Native American painter and artist. A member of the Chiricahua Apache tribe, he was born in Arizona and grew up learning traditional Apache art forms. Houser's modernist style blended traditional techniques with contemporary themes, often featuring bold colors and dynamic compositions. His work explored the human condition, spirituality, and the struggles of Native American life. Considered one of the most important Native American artists of his generation.
