Antoine Caron
Antoine Caron (1517-1594) was a French painter of the Renaissance. He worked primarily in miniatures and illuminated manuscripts. Caron's style blended Flemish realism with French elegance. His subjects included royalty, nobles, and mythological scenes. He was a master of color and detail, often using gold leaf and other precious materials. Caron's work influenced later French artists, such as Jean Clouet and François Clouet.
