Antonio Tempesta

Antonio Tempesta (1555-1630) was an Italian painter and engraver of the Baroque and Renaissance periods. He was born in Rome and trained under prominent artists such as Girolamo Muziano and Matteo Zuccaro. Tempesta's work is characterized by its dramatic lighting, expressive figures, and attention to detail. He is best known for his illustrations of battles, landscapes, and mythological scenes, which were often used as decorative elements in books and on walls.
