Arshile Gorky

Arshile Gorky (1904-1948) was an Armenian-American artist who bridged Expressionism and Surrealism. His bold, emotive paintings explored the human experience, often incorporating symbolic and dreamlike elements. Born in Armenia, Gorky fled to the United States in 1920 and became a key figure in the American Abstract Expressionist movement.
