Kazimir Malevich

Kazimir Malevich was a Russian painter and artist who pioneered Suprematism, an avant-garde movement that emphasized geometric forms and pure abstraction. Born in 1878, Malevich studied art in Moscow and St. Petersburg before moving to the Soviet Union. He is best known for his iconic "Black Square" painting (1915), which featured a bold black shape on a white background. His work also influenced Cubism, and he is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
